Would you donate $50,000 to disgraced ex-Speaker Michael Madigan’s legal fund?
Our current State Rep. Kathleen Willis did.
She gave disgraced ex-Speaker Madigan $57,800.
In 2019, then-Speaker Michael Madigan “hit up fellow lawmakers for contributions to cover his mounting legal costs." Amid an ongoing FBI investigation, Madigan received the maximum donation allowed – $57,800 – from incumbent State Rep. Kathleen Willis. Knowing the FBI was closing in, why would Willis give $57,800? Because she owed him.
And Madigan gave Willis $641,943.
When Kathleen Willis – a former Republican-turned-Democrat – first ran, Madigan “moved heaven and earth” for her campaign. Over the last ten years, political action committees controlled by Madigan have donated an unprecedented $641,943 to Willis.
